Now that we're a few weeks into the 2nd quarter, where are you and your partner in regards to your 2nd quarter project? Ahead of the game? On time? Or behind schedule? Give me three reasons why you feel this way. Don't forget to include your intro and conclusion!
On a side note, it seems that some joker out there is impersonating Mr. Godsill. If you see any posts from him, just delete them. Mr. Godsill is not looking at your blogs or projects. You can also adjust your blogs so that you can approve the comment first before it posts if this becomes a problem. I want to apologize for the delay in getting this week's blog topic posted. As you know, I've been preoccupied with our STN Challenge since last Friday and it just completely slipped my mind to do it. Mia had to remind me! (Thanks Mia!)
Anyways, there's an old saying that practice makes perfect. It's something I totally believe in and it's why I ask you all to show up at 7:15 am on your morning announcement weeks or why I ask you to correct your grammar, spelling, and punctuation in your scripts and blogs. You have to practice to get better. In just about anything you want to do, in order to get better at it, you need to practice it. That's why sports teams conduct daily practices or meet several times a week. To get better at hitting a baseball, you need to do it over and over again. To get better at writing, you need to write....a lot. This is why I urge you to really put your best effort into anything you do. If you continually skip out on using capitals in proper nouns, when it's time to actually do that for something that matters, you'll revert to your old ways. In order for us to be ready for STN, we need to put in some practice sessions. When it's that time, I hope that you all commit and do what you can to show up and put in the practice that's needed to go from good to great. For this week's blog post, I'd like you to tell me of a time in which you had to practice something in order to be better at it. Was it for sports or learning a new skill like braiding? Tell me about it and three things that you learned from this experience. Now that the first quarter is done, I'd like you to reflect on the past 8 weeks and ask yourself, what do you want to work on to be better at in the 2nd quarter? What specific skills do you want to learn or improve and how will you get there? I don't just want the goals now, I also want to know how you'll reach them. List at least three.
