Hope the announcements are going well for you guys while we are away. For this week's blog post, I'd like you both to tell me what the three toughest things are with doing the announcements while we are away are. If you can't think of three, think of two and give me one positive. Both teams finished their Crazy 8's on time today! See you both soon!
For those of you on the trip this week, you will be required to post one blog entry per day while we are away. You will write about what you experienced AND learned each day, much like a recap of the day's events. Be careful though as I don't want your blogs to just list what we've done. Rather, I'd like you to write about not only what we did but what you LEARNED from it. Posts that fail to explain what you LEARNED will not count so don't waste your time by doing them wrong. Every day will be a new chance to learn something new. Embrace that opportunity and get the most out of this experience!
For Tristen & Ben, I'd like you to give me an update on your 4th quarter project. Where are you in it? Shot list and script completed yet? Don't forget your second blog on your topic of choice related to media. Good luck with the morning broadcasts while we're away! I think I finally figured out why we're having so many issues posting videos to our Weebly pages.....it has to do with your file name. You need to eliminate all spaces or special marks like commas or apostrophes when you create your file name. For example, something like this:
STN Crazy 8's Practice.m4v ...needs to be changed to: STNCrazy8sPractice.m4v Try it and see for yourself! Here's the link to Norwood High School's Super Saturday practice session. Check it out!
http://www.mustang.media/#!supersaturday/c224u Yesterday we had our first full Crazy 8's practice at the Kauai Marriott Hotel. For our new students, it was a chance to see what that contest is like. For our returning students, it was a chance to get adjusted to the new 8 hour time limit compared to last year. The film team did a pretty good job but the broadcast team struggled. For this week's blog entry, I'd like you to tell me how it went for you and your group. What worked? What didn't? What do you need more help with to get better? At the end of your blog, I'd like you to also answer this question: Do we want to do anything during the spring break to work on these things? We already have our last practice scheduled for that last weekend of the break but do we want to do anything extra besides that?
For Ben and Tristen, write about how you plan to work on your 4th quarter project while we are away. What are your plans? How will you use the class time to your advantage? You'll have 2-3 media periods just by yourselves....how can you use them to work on your project? As of today, we are 24 days out from our STN trip. In less than a month we will be on a plane headed to California! Let me tell you, these next 24 days are going to go by really quickly and before you know it, we'll be saying good bye to our families for 10 days! Are you excited yet? For today's blog post I'd like you to tell me about the most exciting day in your life up to this point. What got you so excited that you could hardly breathe? Did you win an award, ride a super scary roller coaster, or go on a fun trip? Tell me about your most exciting day ever with three details why you chose it.
