For the Olelo contest I need the following information:
1) Title of your entry 2) What topic is it about? 3) Why is this an issue for you? In other words, why did you choose this topic? 4) Who are you recognizing in your credits and what did you all do? Post this info with your completed project and export a Master File that I want placed on a flash drive on Monday. For Ben and Dylan, write about how your PSA went. How do you think you did?
Here's a reminder about the Kaua'i Museum Art contest coming up. The actual contest deadline is March 7th but we need time to mount the photos on cardboard/foam core so your deadline is Friday, February 26th. It could be a black and white or color photo. The digital file needs to be sent to me via email on my Google email account and posted to your blog page as a separate blog post that week. There is no theme to work around so you will have to just go out there and take a great shot of something. Don't delay in doing that so that you aren't rushing at the last minute.
The second contest is the Olelo Youth XChange competition that is coming up at the same time. You all know about your PSA being due for that but I wanted to remind you about a possible news story that you could also enter. Those have to be cut down to 2 minutes so you would need to do some editing. Again, if you wait until the last minute then you'll be scrambling but if you start to work on that now, you can spread it out and do a better job on it. For this week's blog post, I want you to talk about some ideas you have for the photo contest. What do you think you'll take a picture of? Do you already have a photo taken that you want to use or do you have to still go out and take one? When do you think you'll go and take your photos? Finally, are you planning on submitting a news story for Olelo? Why or why not? Kudos to those that created a vlog last week! Great job in going for it and trying something new! You can continue to vlog or go back to writing regular blogs. If you haven't tried vlogging yet, why not give it a shot? |
